This time around, Mike was a gentler, kinder Mike, a new Mike, that was willing to look a life in a whole new prospective. Showing no ill hatred towards his opponets at press confrences, no longer lashing out at the media. This time around it, seemed, for the first time, Mike was happy and found a new saprk and a renewed passion for the sport that he once dominated form the late 80's til the early 90's.
If you were just like me, you had to be one of the 17,000 fans that jam-packed Freedom Hall in Louisville, or you had to be at home or at a sports bar wanting to believe that even at 38, this was somehow the Iron Mike from yesteryear. That the luster hadn't entirely rubbed off, that he still could deliver that knock out punch that brought him so much fame.
As Tyson made his way through the curtians, he recived a standing ovation from the crowd. This had to signal that now matter how many outrageous things he's done, he can still draw a crowd. The crowd seemed to embrace "Iron" Mike as the bell rung, he went all out, trying from his first punch to knock Williams out. For a few minutes, it looked as if he would do just that, the crowd stadning on their feet, sensing that the end would be near, and get their monies worth and then go home. By landing some big left hooks and uppercuts that hurt his opponent.
Tyson was injured towards the end of the first round, tearing a ligament in his left leg. "That's why he couldn't throw the right hand the rest of the fight, "I was screaming at him to throw it, but he couldn't." said Shelly Finkel to the press. Being a true modern day warrior, he didn't make any excuses, he continued fighting. Then after three rounds, Williams took control and with 22 unanswered punches to the head, the end was near for Tyson, with nine seconds left in the fourth, Williams uppercut Tyson that sent him crashing down to the ropes. It looked like Tyson could have gotten up, but stayed down. After the fight was over, he looked at his trainer and said:"I'm sorry. I'm disappointed," and trainer Freddie Roach replied:"You don't have to be sorry with me."
So, here we are now, and it leads me to this, that I Remington Porter, have taken the liberty of doing this petition to get "Iron" Mike to go through knee surgery, get back in the ring, and demand a rematch against Danny Williams. As you can see, he had the man beat, for the first three rounds he had him beat. Williams wants a rematch aganist Mike, to prove that it wasn't a "fluke."
The petition is for Mike Tyson to continue his boxing career, and as soon as this petition reaches one million (1,000,000) signatures (if it goes over one million it's okay) then I will send this over to Showtime Boxing Championship Networks. If there are any Mike Tyson fans left, show your faith like me, stand behind Mike in his tough time to decide what he wants to do with his career. Let's get this petition started.
Sincerely
Remington Porter
