Mind Your Step - Stop Dog Fouling in Perton and Help Keep Our Village Clean and Safe

No matter where you walk in Perton you have to keep one eye on the path if you are to avoid stepping in dog poo.
Not only is this a slur on our village, it also has serious health implications for our children - e.g. infection and blindness.
The main areas of concern are around both our primary schools, the upper and lower lake, Anders Square, the playing fields and even on the pavement outside of your own house - the places where irresponsible dog owners allow their dogs to relieve themselves of the urge whenever and wherever is endless.
Despite pages of comments expressing concern to Perton Parish Council on their own website's Guest Book (www.pertonparishcouncil.gov.uk), NOTHING has been done.
There are by-laws in place which cover the playing fields which can be found on the same website and also there is government legislation in place for this to be dealt with by public officers.
Whilst I acknowledge that this is due to a handful of irresponsible dog owners, their actions are letting down those dog owners who are cleaning up their dog's mess.
By signing this petition, you will help us to lobby Perton Parish Council to take this matter seriously on behalf of its residents and to put together an action plan to clean up our village.
