We, the undersigned, feel that it is a form of child neglect to withhold from another parent access to a child for a protracted period without good cause, and should therefore be a criminal offense. We ask that the Legislature of the State of Tennessee strongly consider the detrimental impact that the above mentioned has on a child.
T.C.A. 36-6-406 states that it can be found AFTER a hearing to be in the best interest of a child to LIMIT OR PRECLUDE ANY PROVISIONS of a parenting plan if any below listed factors exist:
*A parent has withheld from the other parent access to the child for a protracted period without good cause.
We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the Legislature of the State of Tennessee introduce a bill, which would modify Tennessee Code Annotated 36-6-406, making it ILLEGAL for a parent to withhold from the other parent access to the child(ren) for a protracted period without good cause. We, the undersigned, ask that you seek the advice of Juvenile Judge's, trained divorce/seperation mediators, Teachers, etc...in your area.
