On Monday April 11th, Rise Against, Alexisonfire, Brazil and The Walking are playing in Winnipeg, and are playing at the Burton cummings theatre.
The burton cummings theatre is a THEATRE, with no floor but seats, you can barely stand, and there is no room for dancing; clearly not a place designed for a concert of this type. Further more the accoustics of the building are comparable to a high-school gymnasium.. Alexisonfire played earlyer, and I am even sure that they would agree.
It is a shame to see these bands play at these venues. Rise Against, being one of my favorite bands, I hate to say that I may not be going to their show, due to something as stupid as this.
By signing this petition, you agree that you think Rise Against would be MUCH better off playing at a diffrent venue, like the rendez-vous (yes, it is opening temporairly) or even the convention centre. I realize the convention center would be more money, and I as well as many people would pay the extra few dollars for the move.

It isn't that difficult to change the venue. I recommend the West End Cultural Centre, or the Pyramid Cabaret. The Burton Cummings Theatre would be alright, but really, you want people dancing at this show. Forget acoustics.
