NATIONALISE THE ENERGY SECTOR IN SCOTLAND AFTER INDEPENDENCE

Every day in Scotland more and more people are struggling to heat their homes and pay their energy bills and more households are falling into fuel poverty than ever before.  At the same time as our energy bills keep risiing astronomically the energy companies profits keep steadily rising. SSE for example has made £1.3 BILLION in profit.

Scotland is an energy rich nation and the people who live here should not have to live in fuel poverty. It is absolutely shameful that these energy companies are profiteering at our expense. This needs to change and with Independence we have an excellent opportunity to do this,

That is why I urge all of you to sign this petition calling on all of Scotland's politicians to Nationalise the energy sector after Independence. This would be beneficial to everyone who lives in Scotland, without the profiteering of these energy firms our Government could lower energy bills for everyone, which would lift people out of fuel poverty and give them more money to spend. People having more money to spend would also help boost the economy in Scotland. It could also have a knock on effect with businesses due to the fact that their energy bills could also be lowered. This could lead to less overheads which in turn could attract other businesses to Scotland creating more employment opportunities.
