Neighbours Petition
It has come to my attention in a number of discussions, that a great many of us would watch Neighbours if we could, but cruel fate has placed obstacles in our path.
Most people that work find it impossible to get home in time to enjoy the antics of Ramsay Street, due to the early slot that it is allotted.
This seems a particularly cruel state of affairs when you consider that other programmes, such as Eastenders, that are already shown in the evening, are repeated in an omnibus edition.
The 5.35 time-slot has served only to ensure that as schoolchildren or students we become addicted to the daily Antipodean high-jinks it offers, before our later working life forces us into a disagreeable cold-turkey state of suffering.
We, the undersigned, compel the BBC to listen to its loyal viewers, and arrange a weekend omnibus for Neighbours.
Ideally I would suggest that it be screened on BBC2, as BBC1 has a fuller weekend schedule, and BBC3 and 4 are not yet available in every household (this omnibus most certainly should be; I say without fear of exaggeration or superlative that it is as necessary as running water).
Midday on a Saturday would suit best, after Saturday Kitchen. There are often repeats on Saturday BBC2 anyway, and although a similar slot on a Sunday would be okay, but there would be greater risk of a clash with football, which should be avoided.
Earlier that midday is running dangerously into hangover/sleeping hours, and should similarly be avoided if possible.
Please BBC, do the right thing.
