Dear, New Jersey State Athletic Control Board,

The undersigned find it in the best interest of Mixed Martial Arts and Sport in general that your administration cease the sanctioning given to the YAMMA Pit Fighting Championships. In their debut show, only two fights were needed to decide that this show is setting back Mixed Martial Arts to the point it was at in 1993.

Their gimmick was a "new fighting surface." The logic that was the sloped incline would give fighters on their back an advantage, and it would disallow the fighter on the top to sit atop their adversary against the cage. It could not have worked any more inversely. On about a dozen different instances during the night, fighters defended takedowns by stepping back up the inclined surface and attempting to push away. Ultimately, they ALL had their ankles picked due to the incline, and were taken down.

Also, the incline is the source of additional danger to the fighters' wellbeing. During one specific instance, the fight between Chris Tuscherer and Tony Sylvester, it partially slid out of place, and Sylvester almost slipped on it while defending a takedown.

Please, for the sake of the sport, cease your approval and sanctioning of this debauchery.
