We, the undersigned, are deeply moved by this story, and are asking the council to reconsider reinstating free school travel for 16-18 year olds in Norhamptonshire with learning disabilties, after changing their policy in May 2010.
A teenage girl with learning disabilities, has been told that her mum must pay the 3000 bill for the transport to her school 15 miles away because Northamptonshire County Council has over spent on its budget.
This is such a worrying time for Ellie's mother and all the 160 families of pupils who use the transport. How on earth they will meet the new costs imposed on them?
