NUSA plays a vital role in making campus life worthwhile and enhances students university experience. NUSA does this by offering a diverse range of services which include:
* Advocating for students rights: Grievance officer, general representation, education action groups, and countless campaigns.
* Implementing practical measures to address student poverty: NUSA free bbq, fruit & veg boxes, home start-up kit, all day breakfast, tea & coffee, kitchen facilities, workshops.
* Collectives: Indigenous, Women's, Queer, International, Environment, Welfare and Equity.
* OPUS! The independent student magazine.
* Clubs and Societies: 35+ groups that cater to thousands of students including La Pena, Veggie club, the FRAT, the Faculty clubs.
* Autonomous Queer and women's spaces.
* Mental health and stress relief programs.
* Unplanned pregnancy support and baby change facilities.
* Safe sex packs, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, cheap bus tickets, fair trade food.
For all these reasons and more, we the undersigned feel that the University should increase NUSA's funding to the requested amount in 2008.
