IRIX for years has been considered one of the best UNIX Operating Systems ever written, along with is legendary X implementation.
SGI has long ago discontinued development and support of IRIX, but there are still many devoted users who would do everything to get the IRIX back, make it modern, compete with other systems, and potentially make it again the state-of-the-art UNIX as it used to be before.
Hereby, we request SGI to consider open sourcing the IRIX Operating System in full.
