NEW YORK (Reuters) - Exxon Mobil Corp. on Thursday posted a quarterly profit of $9.9 billion, the largest in U.S. corporate history, as it raked in a bonanza from record oil and gas prices.
With oil giant Exxon Mobil posting record profits amid record gasoline prices, We believe it is time to force our government to stop in and stop the gouging. Our government is supposed to be for the people, not for the corporate profiteers. Please create a profit tax for oil companies and use the money to help rebuild American disaster areas such as the Gulf.
