PETITION TO EXPAND BICYCLE POLICE COVERAGE TO THE CHICOPEE-DUDLEY

The members of the Chicopee-Dudley Neighborhood association would like
to express their concern about the crime occurring in our
neighborhood. While we recognize the significant improvement during
the last 5 years, we have begun to notice an increasing level of crime
in only the past few months. Prostitution, drugs, violence, theft,
and wanton property destruction have been on the rise. We are
committed to working with the police in these matters to improve the
condition of our neighborhood and ask for an increased police force
presence in our community. Not being professionals in the law
enforcement, we humbly suggest that an increased presence in the form
of bicycle police would make a significant improvement. The
compactness of our neighborhood and tight streets seem ideal for an
officer that can interact and observe the streets.
Therefore, we the undersigned request that the Athens-Clarke County
Police expand their bicycle coverage to the Chicopee-Dudley
Neighborhood Area and increase communication with the Chicopee-Dudley
Association.
