Petition to Remove the Twilight Series from SDCC

Originally SDCC was started by 300 people who were big comic book fans, hence the name Comic-con. It has developed to a place to showcase anything related to comics, science fiction and the supernatural. However lately, it seems as if SDCC has moved away from the original purpose. The Twilight movie series at SDCC is the biggest example.
Many people will buy membership passes for just one event. Thereby, they are taking the place of other people who are actually dedicated fans of comic books, supernatural and science fiction. If this is to continue, SDCC will soon lose its original purpose.
Additionally, SDCC is also a place to show new movies that are relevant to the science fiction and supernatural world. The Twilight series bares no relevance to the science fiction world. The entire series focuses on romance and isn't suitable to take a place in SDCC. While Twilight and its predecessors feature supernatural creatures, the plot line negates any pertinence.
We do not hold any grudge against the success of the series. We simply feel that the Twilight series does not belong at SDCC. Therefore by removing the Twilight series, SDCC would be able stay true to its intention of focusing on comics, supernatural and science fiction.
