The state of rock and roll music in America has been in a constant decline over the last decade. Rap has become overly commercialized resulting in a complete saturation of the musical landscape with senseless noise and talent-less rappers hawking every product under the sun while not actually making music. Emo and Indie Rockers have resuscitated the once thought dead crappy easy listening folk rock of the seventies, artists like Bright Eyes and Death Cab for Cutie are todays answer to Don MacLean and The Starland Vocal Band. Meanwhile corporate punk bands like Green Day and Good Charlotte with 500 tour buses and bodyguards have certainly proved that punk is indeed dead.
We thought that when Jerry died the dead would too, but no we got Phish and when they broke up we ended up with Dave Matthews? And I am sure I dont need to mention the whole boy band teen slut virgin singing sensations, right?
Well what we need is a band that can bring rock back to its gory fire breathing, scare your parents, and frighten advertisers while still enchanting young ones down a dark path of sin. And lets face it Ozzy is just getting too old to rock properly, and Dio? Well I think he has already been told No More Rocking for you.
But a bright pop light is being squashed out by a dark force that is rising, a dark force that has the answers all our needs. Where is that dark force emanating from? None other than Finland!
Lordi the monster heavy rock band or heavy rock monster band who recently won the Eurovision song is that power. Embodying the early showman ship of Kiss (before the makeup ever came off) with the fiery rock of 80s metal Lordi can help save the youth of America.
However no tour plans are in existence for Lordi to come to America.
By signing this petition you are asking those responsible to step up the challenge. You are asking them to act on a cause of rock and roll justice. You are asking them to Bring Lordi to the USA.
On the day of rockening they will be judged and if they help they can definitely impact the coming Arockalypse.
