We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the proposed Roebuck Road expansion that would damage sensitive wetlands, threaten endangered wildlife such as the snail kite and pose a risk to the city's drinking water supply that sustains West Palm Beach, Palm Beach and South Palm Beach.
Currently, the County is proposing a Roebuck Road extension between the Acreage reliever road (SR 7) and Jog Road at a cost of over $30 million dollars. We ask that the state permitting agencies closely examine the severe environmental impact of the proposal and ask the County to find alternative routes as a means of relief for the western communities.
This proposal jeopardizes our water quality, safety and sustainability.
