Protect Peralta Creek Corridor

The Peralta Creek Corridor on Rettig Avenue, a wildlife habitat, is the last and only natural open space in the area.

We believe the wildlife-creek corridor on Rettig Ave is an unusual and special place in the City of Oakland that must be protected.

We believe the City must follow state and federal environmental protection laws and must not disjoin projects to make exemptions.

We believe the City must respond to citizens questions and concerns about projects and not bypass the laws that require them to do so.

We believe the City must acknowledge the dangers associated with high-risk work and conduct all of the necessary studies to prevent catastrophe.

For these reasons, we support the appeal of the Citys decision to exempt Case V04-209 / CP04-071 from the state of California Environmental Quality Act.
