Put WVU In The NCAA Tournament

West Virginia University should be placed in the field of 65 come Sunday evening. Their current overall record stands at 18-9, with a conference record of 8-8 with the Big East Tournament still to be played. The worst the Mountaineers can finish is 18-10 with a conference record of 8-9. With the Big East being as competitive as it is, eight wins should be enough for at least a 12th seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Like most other bubble teams, West Virginia has quality wins over tough non-conference opponents. Early in the season, WVU went on the road to LSU and won by 15. This being LSUs only loss at home this season. LSU has a record of 19-8 currently. A month later, a ranked George Washington team came into Morgantown and the Mountaineers won with a final score of 71-65. George Washington has since won the Atlantic-10 West Division regular season Championship with an overall record of 19-7. The next game involved WVU going on the road to N.C. State to play the 17th ranked Wolfpack. The Mounties emerged with an 82-69 victory.
West Virginia also has two quality Big East wins over Pittsburgh. The first came in early February at the Coliseum while Pitt was ranked 16th in the nation. The second came at Pitt on February 23 with the final score being 70-66.
West Virginia has just as many, if not more quality victories than most other bubble teams. In conclusion, WVU should not be excluded from the Tournament.
