We, the undersigned parents, staff, students, and taxpayers of the Ravena Coeymans Selkirk School District, and other concerned citizens in the broader community respectfully request that NYS Wildlife Pathologist Dr. Ward Stone, or other representatives on behalf of Community Advocates for Safe Emissions (CASE) be allowed to collect samples for environmental testing at the RCS Middle School and High School Campus, as well as the Pieter B. Coeymans and the A.W. Becker Elementary Schools.
These environmental samples will be collected in conjunction with Dr. Stones ongoing study investigating heavy metals and other possible contaminants in neighborhoods impacted by pollution from the Lafarge Cement Plant in Ravena, NY. This study is being conducted on a volunteer basis with all lab fees paid for by CASE.
Many toxins emitted by the Lafarge Cement plant pose serious health risks, especially for children. Please help us gather critical information so that we can ensure a safe and healthy environment for the children of this school district.
