We are writing this letter to express our concern regarding the increase in sexual content, suggestively and bad language being shown on Sony Entertainment Network during prime time. This exemplified by the excerpts of the raunchy songs shown on music mantra from 6.30-7 pm and 7-7.30 pm and also the various previews shown in between programs at all times.
We believe that these programs are clearly offensive to the standards of our community and are especially offensive as they are broadcast at any hour. We realize that the cable TV stations are not subject to FCC regulations but would strongly urge that Sony Entertainment not telecast adult material including scenes of strong sexual nature, graphic depiction of suicide attempts and use discretion regarding the language used in these programs especially the frequent swearing. We also hope that Sony entertainment would use discretion regarding sleazy songs.
We hope that Sony Entertainment will help our children become more aware of their culture and language and be a positive social force.We are deeply disturbed by the increase in nudity and suggestivity in these programs. These programs send the wrong message about our culture and also provide wrong role models for our children.
We hope in earnest that you will take actions and we will not have to change channels due to the indecency, foul language, swearing or the sexual contents of the programs
