From 1998 through 2001 and before Showtime became preoccupied with being more politically correct with their programming, Rude Awakening held a fervently loyal audience that tuned in regularly to watch the antics of recovering alcoholic Billie Frank (superbly played by Sherilyn Fenn). I have, as well as others, made repeated attempts to contact Showtime to point me in the right direction of purchasing the series on either DVD or VHS. The closest that I have come is a tape of the show submitted to the Emmys that I bought from eBay.
Rude Awakening showcased the talents of Sherilyn Fenn, Lynn Redgrave, Rain Pryor, Mario van Peebles, Richard Lewis, and featured such guests as Tim Curry and Roger Daltry of The Who. This petition is to attempt to convince Showtime to release Rude Awaening on either DVD or VHS for the true fans of the show. If we gather enough signatures, it stands to reason they have no choice except to listen.
