Removal of All Burma Students Democratic Front as Terrorist Organization

I am signing this petition to request Secretary Janet Napolitano (Department of Homeland Security) to remove the All-Burma Students Democratic Front (ABSDF) from the Department of Homeland Securitys terrorist organization list. In the past Karen National Union (KNU) and other Burmese ethnic resistance groups were marked as terrorist groups but all were removed from the list except ABSDF. ABSDF is smaller than KNU and resides in the KNU controlled area.
Before 9/11 ABSDF leaders and members were allowed to resettle in the USA without any problems but after 9/11 everything changed. ABSDF members who were waiting to resettle in the USA were informed by the UNHCR that their cases are pending and those who already resettled are not allowed to get a green card or citizenship.
The ABSDF is not a terrorist organization its purpose is to educate the Burmese people about human rights and the value of a multi-party government system. Only secondly, it is an armed resistance (only as defense from the Burmese military regime) student organization whose members strongly believe in human rights and democracy.
