Remove SecuROM From The Sims 2

EA and Maxis, your paying and loyal customers request that you remove the faulty copy protection software, SecuROM, from the Sims 2 series of games as well as refrain from including it in the future. Below are the reasons for this request:
*SecuROM is well known for causing problems on computers, and continues to do so.
*SecuROM can disable legal and legitimate programs involved in such things as burning CDs or DVDs legally.
*SecuROM was installed without any sort of notification to the customer in any form.
Making things worse is the denial of the SecuROM problem, claiming other things (Such as viruses) are the cause of user's problems, even though extensive research and presented evidence proves that SecuROM is behind it.
Furthermore, the copy protection of SecuROM has failed, with versions of the game appearing online in the first 24 hours of release. The unauthorized copying of the game was not stopped by SecuROM any more than it was stopped by previous programs.
For these reasons, we strongly urge and request EA and Maxis remove the SecuROM system from current and future games, or we will be forced to boycott the company and refrain from buying the fine games you have provided for years.
