For over 60 years, the World Bank - with its partner in crime, the International Monetary (Manipulation) Fund - has been waging war on the global South through so-called "structural adjustments". These "adjustments" pave the way for international finance at the expense of peace, ecology and human rights. And now George W. Bush has nominated Paul Wolfowitz, one of the key architects of the illegal war against Iraq, to become the new President of the World Bank, making clear the Bank's real purpose.
We therefore call on the World Bank to take on the more appropriate name of the War Bank to help avoid further confusion. Either way we will continue to resist your destructive policies.
