Repeal The DTV Delay Act of 2009

The Goal of this Petition is to show Congress that we want them to repeal The DTV Delay Act of 2009. The delay offers no substantial benefits and indeed will increase costs of the transition. The date of the transition has been well known for over 18 months and anyone who hasn't taken care of their sets by either buying a new television or purchasing a government subsidized digital converter box has had ample time to do so. Enforcing the original date will encourage those who have procrastinated up to this point to take some action. Though there will be limited cases where people may not have the ability to purchase a converter box or new television, delaying the transition will not substantially lower the number of these cases. Please consider this; the delay is only a hindrance.
