SATS and Affirmative Action

We believe affirmative action should be prolonged for economically disadvantage students taking the SATS. Colleges should take affirmative action by looking at a students grades over the course of years rather than the SATS. A student with more economic stability starts off with a greater advantage over a student with less economic solidity. A student with more money can afford to pay a tutor that can range up to about $800 an hour a clear impossibility for an economic disadvantage student. This is clearly an unfair situation for those students of the lower class when applying to college with their SATS scores.
Affirmative action should be based not just on race but also economical status of a person. With affirmative action every student regardless of their income should have an equal chance in being accepted to getting into their top choice of college. Tutors for SATS should all run at a price that everyone could afford. A student from a city school should have equal chances of getting into an Ivy League school or any top college, as that of a student coming from a school in the suburbs.
