On January 10th Governor Schwarzenegger proposed his 2007-2008 fiscal year budget to the State Legislature. The Governor's budget included a plan for universal health care for all Californians while at the same time proposing drastic cuts to the Cal-WORKS program to help fund his health care proposal as well as his other budget priorities.
While we the undersigned support health care for all Californians, we do not believe that financing the program off the backs of the state's poorest families is the way to achieve that end. We the undersigned urge our legislators to protect our families and save Cal-WORKS funding.
