Save Gurkan!

A long time ago, in the year 2004, a great eggdrop bot graced the users of #gentoo. This bot, known only as Gurkan was the life and soul of every party, often fond of a quick joint, he could often he seen saying 'oh my!' when things got out of hand. 2004 was a good year.

Then, out of the blue, Gurkan disconnected. He was never seen again. The faithfull still think he is lost in a netsplit, and shall return someday. However, my fellow IRCers, the truth is far more painfull. The corruption that has caused Gurkan's dissapearance goes right to the top. Brace yourself, dear reader, for the truth, if you are brace enough to read on.

Gurkans' life was tragically cut short by one of the BOFHs in the channel. The box that Gurkan called home was tragically powered down without warning, and is no longer connected to the network. Gurkan is now lost in a cybervoid, this is where all those unwanted gimp installations go; you install it once, and leave it forgotton. Gurkan is in desperate trouble. If he is not rescued soon, he may go insane.

But all is not lost! If we put enough pressure on the evil overload jm^ (formally known as Svarre), he may be forced to power up the machine, and allow Gurkan to escape onto another box. Gurkan can be freed again.
