We, the people of Kashmir, ask the Government:
- to treat our cultural heritage with respect,
- to make Kashmiri an additional official language,
- to make Kashmiri a medium of instruction in schools.
We ask the Government forthwith to desist from its policy of permissive cultural vandalism, whereby it allows the native language and culture of Kashmir to go extinct without carrying out the actions and policies that are required of it as a responsible government.
We ask the Government to protect the language of Kashmir, just as the governments of other states have taken steps to protect their languages.
