I am doing this petition on behalf of my brother Mathew Jenkins and his fiance Meleri Owen, to save their home being given to somebody else. Mathew has grown up in this house, we moved there as a family 24 years ago. Our parents had joint tenancy, and when our dad passed away 17 years ago our mum succeeded with the tenancy. Our mum passed away just two months ago. Mathew attempted to gain tennancy through succession but was unsuccessful. Apparently tenancy through succession cannot happen twice in the same family.
We believe that this is wrong, and should not happen. Mathew and Meleri are starting a family of their own, and Mel already has two gorgeous daughters. This is the home that Mathew grew up in, our family home which we have so many fond memories of. And it should be the home where Mathew brings up his family. It's what our mum wanted!
