We, the people of the Stella Maris Community, wish to make you aware of a major issue that is currently affecting our parish. Our pastor has suggested to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia that our parish school be closed. We are shocked and dismayed at his decision and feel that had the parishioners and parents been told of the possible closure in advance of the announcement on February 16, 2010 we may have been able to somehow prevent this from happening. We sincerely ask that you allow Stella Maris School to remain open and that the income and expenses of the parish and the school be reviewed at a public meeting. We feel the school could be saved if the parish income were budgeted properly. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
