Say Yes to Walmart

They say that if Walmart comes to town then 36 businesses will close down. That's a pretty precise number so where did they get that from? If you take away the restaurants I didn't even think you could find 36 business in the core and I'm talking three or four blocks on Ontario St. and south of there for three or four blocks. Seeming they have an exact number then maybe they would care to name these business that are going to close because of Walmart.

So what's at risk?
The Scottish Store
The Chocolate Factory
The Christmas Store
The Tea Store
The Indigenous Peoples Craft store
The Fancy Toy Store at the end of Ontario
Quark soup
The Book Stores
Other Specialty shops
The Designer Clothing Stores
The Hotels
The Restaurants

Gee that's pretty much 90\% of the downtown stores and I don't see any that Walmart would be a direct competition with. Or is it that just because Walmart's here no-bodies going to come to Stratford anymore.

So if Walmart's here first the stores that cater to the locals will disappear. OK, maybe a possibility.
Next the stores that cater to the tourists are going to leave. WHY is that exactly???
And the Festival will probably close down. WHY?? Are tourist suddenly going to forsake Stratford because we have a Walmart? Is Walmart somehow going to start putting on plays in competition with the Festival???

It's this kind of bullshit and fear mongering by the anti-Walmart people in Stratford that really pisses me off. Do you people even listen to yourselves and hear the stupidity coming out of your mouths??? I'd like to smack some of you upside the head and get you brains working.
