Secession of Northern Ontario from the Province of Ontario

This petition calls for the secession of Northern Ontario from the Province of Ontario.

"The key features of the old economy is that mineral wealth is extracted form northeastern Ontario. We recycle the wages and some of the cost of supplies, the profits and most of the downstream and upstream jobs go south. The management and the research and the consulting jobs generally go south. The best jobs go south."

So what do we get back from the south? Garbage. There have been many attempts for the south to strike a deal to ship it's waste to remote pit mines near the Kirkland Lake area, potentially polluting our lakes and forests. The government does not step in, basically Northern Ontario is on it's own and as such, we should be.

Hence, the petition to seceed from the Province of Ontario.
