CALL FOR COMPLETION OF SHENTON AVENUE RAIL TUNNEL AND CONSTRUCTION OF DUAL BRIDGE OVER MOORE DRIVE IN JOONDALUP AS PART OF MITCHELL FREEWAY EXTENSIONS.
We, the undersigned residents of Joondalup hereby register our serious concerns regarding the safety of motorists and school children at the junction of Shenton Avenue and Pontiac Way in Joondalup due to the increased traffic congestion at this location following the proposed extension of the Mitchell freeway, to be completed by 2005. We are also concerned that the proposed single bridge over dual carriageway Moore Drive will cause duplication and waste of taxpayers money in future extensions and call on the State Government to make available the necessary funding to provide for the tunnel extension and dual bridge in the current project.
Your petitioners therefore humbly pray that you will give this matter earnest consideration and your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
