Dear Sir
Re: EGM 1 July 2011 Motion Of Inadequate Notice
I refer to the following:
1. My letter dated 10 June 2011
2. SICC letter dated 15 June 2011
3. My letter dated 15 June 2011
In summary, I have requested vide my letter of 10 June for the Notice of the EGM dated 1 June 2011, to be properly served by SICC by providing details and rationale of all the items listed as the headings by themselves were inadequate for understanding by members. You have responded vide your letter of 15 June that SICC will be posting some details around 22 June via the clubs website on the 4 items which would require voting by members. I have responded vide my letter of 15 June that this method of dissemination would be discriminative to a large proportion of the members. Further, providing details around 22 June for the EGM on 1 July is less than the 14 days requirement as per Rule 31(c).
In view of the above, please be advised that I shall move the following motion at the EGM on 1 July 2011 if the meeting is to proceed:
With reference to Mr Lai Chong Mengs letters of 10th, 15th, 20th June 2011 and SICCs letter 15th June, I would like to move that the Notice of an EGM dated 1 June 2011 for meeting to be held on 1 July is inadequate and further move that the EGM be cancelled
I would like to believe that the GC after reflecting the foregoing would see it fit to notify members that the 1 July meeting would be an information session and not an EGM. Also, before the next EGM is called, the Notice would be adequately served with all details so that members can contribute to the well being of the club.
Regards
Lai Chong Meng
