Sixteen Island Lake vs the Videotron Communication Tower

Nous, les citoyens inquiets soussignйs de la municipalitй de Lac-des-Seize-Оles, opposons aux plans de construction de Vidйotron d'une tour de communication d'une hauteur de 82 mиtres dans notre petite communautй montagneuse. La beautй unique et pure de notre communautй a aussi йtй identifiйe comme son plus grand atout au niveau йconomique. Toutefois, la tour proposйe menace de faire un dommage irrйparable en affectant le paysage naturel et le ciel йtoilй que les touristes, comme les rйsidents, aiment voir. D'un cфtй nous reconnaissons l'importance de l'accиs а internet а haute vitesse pour le dйveloppement de notre communautй, mais cet accиs ne doit pas кtre obtenu au dйtriment de la municipalitй et de ses citoyens.

Nous demandons, par l'entremise de cette pйtition, que Vidйotron cesse ses efforts dans le but de construire une tour de tйlйcommunication dans la municipalitй de Lac-des-Seize-Оles.


We, the undersigned, strongly oppose Videotrons plan to build an 82 meter tall communications tower in the municipality of Lac-des-Seize-Iles. The municipality already has high speed service with plans for improvements. The Videotron towers primary function has nothing to do with serving Lac-des-Seize-Iles. Videotrons flashing tower will dominate the mountain, the village and the lake, marring the view and the pristine night sky. This tower is detrimental to the municipality and is an environmental blight.

We petition Videotron to halt all efforts to build a communications tower in Lac-des- Seize-Iles
