Background:
High powered sports cars and rickshaws/pedicabs are frequently driven in the vicinity of South Knightsbridge in a hazardous manner and, further, emit noise that is prejudicial to health and constitutes public nuisance. A great deal of this activity takes place between 9pm and 3am. Engines are revved excessively and cars are driven dangerously. Rickshaws/pedicabs carrying passengers are ridden recklessly over the roads and pavements, many playing extremely loud music. This nightly abuse has made it impossible to sleep and has affected peoples daily lives.
Petition:
We, the undersigned, petition the Council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea proactively to enforce existing laws relating to motor vehicles so as to ensure abatement of noise and dangerous driving.
We also petition you to prohibit rickshaws/pedicabs. Failing this, we petition you to enact and/or to amend legislation to ensure that rickshaws/pedicabs should have their operating house restricted and that loud speakers should be prohibited.
