Sonic the Hedgehog for Super Smash Bros Brawl

This is a petition for Sonic the Hedgehog to be a playable character in the upcoming Nintendo Wii game, Super Smash Bros Brawl.
One of the qualifying criteria for inclusion in a Smash Bros title is that the character has a history with Nintendo. Until the recent announcement of Snake, from the Metal Gear franchise, was announced, doors seemed to be shut to third party characters.
As such, Sonic is now a candidate to include alongside a select few other third party characters; a candidate with very good chances at that: he is the mascot for Sega, who was once the number one threat to Nintendo and their Mario franchise, evident during the 16-bit era when Sonic reinvented the platformer genre with his first Genesis title in 1991. Ever since Sega stopped making consoles, however, Sonic has made appearances on all three current consoles, and has games announced for the next-generation ones too. But, a number of his games, including both Sonic Adventures, were made or ported exclusively to Nintendo Gamecube, with an exclusive Wii game on the way. This shows that Sega has a healthy corporate relationship with Nintendo, strengthening the blue blur's chances even more.
Many fans have also shown a great deal of support. Many great movesets and ideas have been made, and communities such as GameFAQs and NSider are buzzing with them.
So, in closing, I urge you to sign this petition, for the sake of supporting a great character being included in Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Yeah, I want the Blue Blur in, but Nintendo ain't the ones we shouldn't be directin' this thing to. They want him in just as much as we do. It's Sega that has the final word on this.
