Here in America we speak the english language. It's our 'base' language. And the fact that immigrants are allowed to 'settle' as citizens without being required to pass, even the most BASIC of english reading and writing tests, is inexcusable, economically costly, and socially divisive.
Mastering the english language would take any non-english person years to complete, especially the elderly. But to allow millions to get citizenship, without this ability costs all Americans UNTOLD MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in higher costs of good and services, business unproductivity, welfare, and higher taxes for social services.
The goal of this petition is to gain signatures which would REQUIRE that all new immigrants be REQUIRED to pass such a test before being allowed full U.S. Citizenship.
Our road signs are in english.
Virtually all safety signs are in english.
The majority of our police officers are english-only speaking.
Our money is printed in english.
And, our President addresses us in ENGLISH
If you can't speak english by the second year in this country, you need to be repatriated to your country of origin, plain and simple !
That Americans haven't DEMANDED this, costs us millions.
And frankly, as a business owner, who's been forced to "pass along" the cost of this waste, to ALL my customers, I'm fed up with it!
