Stand Up Against Hate Crimes

We the undersigned ask that you speak out about the atrocities committed against Megan Williams in Logan County. The fact that this crime is not currently being pursued as a Hate Crime does not change the impact of the atrocities on the survivor, her family, and the citizens of our state. As our elected representatives we request that you inform the country and the world that our state does not and will not tolerate this kind of behavior. Furthermore, the public needs to know that our legal system will respond appropriately to this horrific crime. Speaking out against the inhumane treatment of Megan Williams sends the message that all people regardless of race or gender deserve to be treated with respect and basic human decency. Our state should not be silent about race and gender based violent crimes. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
