It is important to know that The Iranian government is now attacking web logs and web loggers. Currently the Iranian regime organized wide attacking and suppression on political and opponent web logs in Iran. Nearly 20 people have been arrested over the past three months in a crackdown against the online press. Apart from Sigarchi, another web logger, Mojtaba Saminejad, is still in prison. In less than two years, more than 10,000 Persian web logs have emerged. According to Reporters without Borders' sources, the seven journalists imprisoned between October and December 2004 have been beaten, humiliated and sometimes threatened with rape by their jailers. Most of them have been accused of moral crimes that are having sexual relations outside of marriage, a pretext often used in Iran to attack political dissidents.
Mr. Alireza Taherpour and his wife will face serious persecution if refueled to Iran.
We urge the Swedish Immigration Authorities to immediately release him and cancel his deportation order and grant them refugee recognition.
We are awaiting you immediate intervention in this life-threatening situation. Needless to say, the Swedish government will be held accountable for Taherpour's life and freedom.
