Plans to build a new superstore on Thame's Cattle Market have generated protest from people who live in Thame and the neighbouring villages. There are serious fears that it could sound a death knell for the town centre.
There are fears that Thame’s diverse and vibrant high street will be destroyed if a supermarket is built at the Cattle Market.
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge South Oxfordshire District County Council to act now to:
1. Stop Sainsbury’s and other Retail Chains building a superstore at Thame’s Cattle Market.
2. Instead - redevelop the Cattle Market to include facilities for the local community with assembly and leisure uses.
