Stop Sopa and Pipa, a campaign for freedom

SOPA is the Stop Online Piracy Act, written with the intent of more vigorously protecting copyright around the web. The entertainment industry wants to come down harder on file sharing and the theft of copyrighted material, so it lobbied for a draconian law to add to the many anti-piracy laws that are already on the books.
SOPA would be a sweet deal for giant music and entertainment companies. That’s why the law got written in the first place.

The reason of this campaign:

Problem 1: Your site could be shut down whether or not you’ve done anything wrong
Problem 2: SOPA is toothless for real pirates
Problem 3: You are not a bad guy,it doesn't matter, you’re the one who will get punished
Problem 4: SOPA is bad for the economy, at exactly the wrong time
Problem 5: It’s not just small business that takes the hit
Problem 6: It’s bad for internet security and stability
Problem 7: It backs the wrong horse

The PROTECT IP Act is dangerous, ineffective, and short-sighted. It does not deserve floor consideration. I urge my representative to vote "no" on SOPA, the corresponding House bill.

Sites such as Wikipedia and Reddit are going “dark” this Wednesday, Jan. 18, to protest the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) which, critics contend, would compromise the ability of any site that includes outside links to carry on current operations.

The idea of “Going Dark” is a worst-case scenario protest against SOPA, essentially warning that link-heavy sites such as Reddit and Wikipedia might get shut down, or go dark, if SOPA becomes law.

Take Action!
