Stop the Ban on Free Speech!

In case you missed it, the government has now passed a new law. Of course, you probably have missed it, because it was all covered up with the bird flu epidemic coverage.

Two grandmothers from Yorkshire face up to a year in prison after becoming the first people to be arrested under the Government's latest anti-terror legislation. One 68 (Helen John) and one 62 (Sylvia Boyes), they both face this charge under the new legislation.

Though it was passed quickly and quietly, its effects will be on a humongous scale. Any person that protests at any one of 10 military bases across Britain will be treated as potential terrorists and face up to a year in jail or 5,000 fine.

And this is not violent protest, this is peaceful protest.

A peaceful protester is now a terrorist.

So, effectively, it is now illegal to protest at designated areas. Does no one notice this is a violation of human rights? Does no one notice this is illegal? Does no one notice that we are on the way to what can only be a downfall into a right wing dictatorship?

The government are taking away our free speech in what is supposed to be a democracy. Slowly, under other news coverage, they are taking away our rights.

We must stop this now. We will not allow our government to silence us.
