Support for GDNF Patients' Right to Continued Therapy

We believe patients, have certain inalienable rights to partner in clinical research trials. This particular petition is in support of the patients involved in the now defunct GDNF clinical trial. Though the patients were much improved after submitting to brain surgery, the implantation of a pump in their abdomen and the administration of GDNF, Amgen denied them continued use of the therapy. We know and agree to the necessity for clinical trials, however we also believe in human courtesy concerning the patients. We support these patients in their desire for continued use of GDNF (Glial cell-line derived neurotrophic growth factor).
