The purpose of this petition is to show support for House Bill 1375. House Bill 1375, if passed, would give an inmate three (3) days credit time for each day that they serve, rather than just one (1). However, the inmate is required to have completed two (2) educational programs. This should meet the burden of proving to the public that inmates truly are working for their early release. Not only would this save taxpayers money for inmates being incarcerated for less time, it would also benefit our society by releasing more college graduates who have a means to become peaceful and productive members of our society.
