Support of Asheville City Council Resolution Urging De-escalation of Involvement in Afghanistan

We, the people of Asheville, NC urge our City Council to represent our views to our elected representatives in Congress that we need a nonviolent and diplomatic solution to end the War in Afghanistan and along its borders with Pakistan. Our millions in tax dollars need to be directed instead to constructive programs at home, such as providing healthcare for all, jobs, housing, improved mass transit, public safety, education, parks and renewable energy. We do not support continued destructive violence that has been inflicted on citizens in Afghanistan since 2001.
