Support the Non Closure, and Improvement, of Leisure Facilities and Community Buildings in Dalrymple

East Ayrshire Council plan to save around £34 million over the coming year via budget costs. A result of this will see the closure of community leisure buildings in local communities. The remaining buildings, it is proposed, will be run by an arms length trust which, whilst saving cost on business rates for the Council due to charitable status, could result in further buidling closures and ultimately a reduction in facilities. These proposals put Dalrymple Community Centre, Day Centre, Youth Club and library at risk of closure, or potential consolidation , resulting in reduced leisure facilities and services to our local residents in Dalrymple and the surrounding areas. At a time when Dalrymple & District Community Association are planning to re-open the day centre and youth club this may affect our ability to do this on a long term basis. We plan to take our concerns to Council leaders. Don't let us be the forgotten village in East Ayrshire Council.
