Temporary Repeal of the Gasoline Tax

A Petition From The American People To Temporarily Resend the Federal Tax On Pump Gasoline and Diesel Fuel


The price of gasoline has risen to a level that is causing great concern and hardship on EVERY American. Ones most impacted are those who least can afford it, people who have to drive their vehicle to and from work everyday. But rest assured the price of fuel will affect everyone. Americas stores and markets are supplied by trucks; the fuel cost WILL be passed on to consumers.

1; Whereas the Citizens of this Country has bestowed authority
and trust in the Federal Government

2; Whereas the Federal Governments main purpose is (or should be) to provide the safety and well being of all Americans

3; Whereas our Government has not been able to successfully negotiate and influence OPEC and other oil producing Countries to keep crude oil within a reasonable price range

4; Whereas the strategic reserve should be just that, Strategic stockpile to fuel our military in the event of an EXTREME emergency within our borders

5; We the undersigned ask for action from President Bush, the Congress of the United States and State Governors

6; Immediately repeal the Federal tax on gasoline and diesel fuel, for one year or when crude returns at or lower than $ 55.00 per barrel, whichever occurs first.

7; To the best of my knowledge, the federal tax on gasoline is approximately .25 cents per gallon.

8; It would also be beneficial if the States would resend their fuel taxes as well

9; We the American consumers are tired of paying for everyones lack of leadership and myopic view of the World situation.

10; Mr. President, Congress, elected State officials, WE DEMAND relief. Be it known it is time to take away the punishing fuel tax that is adding to the pain and difficulties of working Americans.
