We, the undersigned, hereby petition the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to revise its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to include Bleeding-Heart Psychosis (BHP; a.k.a. "liberal psychosis").

As with nearly all illness, early detection is key and generates the best prognosis. The APA is the leading authority on the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness. The inclusion of this particular and distinct form of psychosis into the next revision of the DSM of this will help spread awareness amongst the public, and most importantly, it will inspire the development of accurate diagnostic procedures and effective treatments for this terrible affliction.

We, the undersigned, demand a cure. The victims of BHP have endured enough. Given all the pain and suffering that BHP continues to inflict, we owe it to the countless victims. We must find the cure.
