The heart of the world is changing. It is now a memory when recycling was thought to be second class. We threw away all sorts of newspapers, bottles, cans, boxes and composting was simply unheard of. But we are now living in the 21st century. The predictions that by 2050, climate change will be irreversible, is simply around the corner. It will soon be accepted that us, as a people cannot reverse our wrong doings unless we focus on a solution now. A pasture cannot exist without each strand of grass; as well, a solution cannot stand without help from each one of us. We cannot simply solve the problem with one possible answer, but without each entity, an end result can never exist. I offer the start to what can be a chain of events. It takes a single rock to cause a ripple in the water, as it takes a single effort from each one of us, in similarity, to clean the river we so eagerly polluted. With a formative law prompting all businesses in the in the County of Peterborough to provide accessible and available use of recycle bins and compost bins for public and consumer disposal, together, we can help bring life into what it means to be living in the 21st century.
As it may seem like a big task, for each store owner, it is not. It is a onetime cost and there is no financial weight on either the business or the public. Although this may not be the answer to the problem we speak, it is a start that will only continue to grow and influence.
With your help, we can not only make a difference for the world around us, but for future generations living it.
